It’s not inherently bad, but the current narrative from the left is that Climate Change is something that can be stopped, as if it’s not a natural process that has been going on for millions of years and will march on regardless of what we do. At best you could slow it down, but the process that started melting the ice 18000 years ago at the end of the Ice Age isn’t going to cease because we stopped burning fossil fuels.
The narrative at the forefront is that in a decade climate disaster will strike, as if that will actually motivate people to do anything about it. 2029 isn’t a real year that exists in people’s minds, especially when the majority of the country struggles to put food on the table tomorrow. You could call it foolish of these people to not be as concerned with Climate Change, but all you’ll get is people spiteful that you called them fools for caring more about a problem that will affect them tomorrow then one a decade from now.
If Climate Change activists focussed half as much effort on convincing people the negative impact fossil fuels have on their everyday lives like cancer causing pollution or environment destroying waste as they are making doomsday predictions coming a decade or more from now, they’d actually be a useful force for preparing human society against the unavoidable forces of Climate Change.
