I'd absolutely down for that, especially if those shows matched or exceeded the quality of this one or if Chris and the crew were involved. That's probably highly unlikely given stuff like pic related, but one can dream. It's too bad the one I'd want the most (Moana) would probably super unlikely given how expensive it would be to get The Rock for a whole series. You don't NEED to, but having the original VAs in this show went a really long way. A Brave one could also be neat, not like they're doing anything with that IP.

It's still a question that what motivated Cass' betrayal. I still don't think Cass has any intention to be a bad guy just because the burned hand unless she's brainwashed. Maybe something happened in the door of shell house changed her mind to let her believe grabbing the moonstone is the only choice for her and it's good for everyone.

For my part, I think her biggest flaw is arrogance. I think that after what happened in the movie she's become convinced that everything is always going to turn out for the best in her life. This leads to her not being as meticulous and careful about details as she probably should be when she deals with certain characters, like Varian or Stalyan. If Gothel winds up being the third then it even carries that "Mother" provided Rapunzel with absolute protection from the outside world, everything she needed and eternal safe haven from the bad of the world. Rapunzel wants, desperately needs freedom, but she's also facing the reality of what freedom entails. She could get hurt, those around her DO get hurt, and she'll never know what the future holds or if she can DO anything about it at all. The choices she makes blow up in her face or drive her friends away.

Embracing her "destiny" means coming to terms with the full breadth of freedom, not just the part that entails frolicking in meadows and seeing new places.

I dunno, I don't think Cass is an egocentric weakling. If anything I think it's just that she believes she knows what's best for Rapunzel and doesn't trust her to make important decisions. This is ultimately what caused Cass's hand to be crippled. Rapunzel was handling it, but Cass wanted to do it her way, she wanted to be the hero.

Her taking the moonstone may be the same thing. In her eyes she's protecting Rapunzel and possibly the world from the moonstone.

So I don't think egocentric, but she definitely has a hero complex and doesn't trust Rapunzel's judgement.

Mulan would be a royal war commander, not the main ruler. In a fully shared Disney Princess fusion universe, she could've kept Cass in line before Cass went rogue. Cass really is a triumph of a character. They shoved her right into the middle of Rapunzel and Eugene's dynamic, and not only did it not suck, within two seasons them all singing "With You By My Side" felt completely natural. They made us all buy in to the idea that she's important in both of their lives, which is why her betrayal is such a gut punch.

I am so unbelieveably overjoyed shit like this was NEVER a plot point in any episode. So many fucking shows mess up with dumb shit like that and it never happened here. Cass has always hated playing second fiddle, she got a whole song about it. What better way for Zhan Tiri to bait her in to doing what he wants than appealing to that? Convince her she really is the hero of the story, trying to fight against an oppressive regime, that it's the destiny she's so often craved. That's the point why Cass would break down if she discovers her true identity eventually. She seeks the glory and honor in her life time but she's actually serving the Kingdom which is responsible for her parents' lost/death. Cap may feel sympathetic and guilty about her family so he adopted and raised Cass but he still doesn't want Cass to succeed his job because of her identity.

I just assume Gothel would get her new stuff from time to time. The whole plot of the film hinges on her being out for 3 days to get some paints for Rapunzel's birthday, enough time for Raps to see the lanterns with Eugene and hopefully not go noticed. Of course it doesn't pan out that way but whatever. Point is she probably got whatever she needed to keep her not bored for 18 years, I'd assume she got more books.

Gothel probably played the doting mother until the literal second Raps could take care of herself, then she'd fuck off for days at a time to live her life. What, just because she lives on an island? The film ends with her village returning to their seafaring roots, she could easily sail out for new adventures, plot, whatever. It is a shame that unless he's feeling SUPER fucking generous, the Rock coming back is near impossible. His performance added a lot to the film, it wouldn't be the same with a soundalike.
