>>108094025That's one of the main issues with this comic though, the characters aren't fully realized. Many could not have chapters solely focusing on them. It's always about whose friends with who or who wants to fuck who.
BCB rarely has introspective chapters about a character's home-life that is meaningful, mostly Augustus and Abbey chapters.
Even when we go to the 'main' characters like Lucy and Mike there is little to anything with their homelife. Mike's family is supportive but distant (save for bitchy Haley), Lucy's family is supportive but distant (save for bitchy Sam). They both LOVE video games (but we cant show them doing that anymore), they both are relatively popular with peers despite shitty behavior, they are both angsty about relationships and mostly passive about their lives.
It always falls back to...
Supporting Character: HEY, why aren't you friends/fucking so and so? You used to love so and so!
Lucy/Mike: Because fuck you thats why, shut up you're not my mom!
Supporting Character: *sadly longingly looks at them* But you could be friends or fucking them...
Lucy/Mike: *angstly stares away* Baka..
The comic could improve if it allowed more mature themes, but we're only gonna get the world's shittiest suicide arc in terms of that. Can't make it too 'adult' for those tweens!
