Does anyone else not like the Sith aesthetic? It's growing more and more to just look like generic Vader and clone troopers... BEFORE they even existed. Like Vader wasn't original and no one bothered to look at the clone troopers and say "hheeey... don't these look like those ancient sith guys?"

They've gotten really uncreative with the sith in the Old Republic stuff. "I wear black and am a cyborg with a red lightsaber" is a little over done and foreshadowing Vader so much they take the wind out of his character.

Everything Star Wars-related has gone downhill in the last decade, the designs of the Sith are no exception. Honestly, the height of it all was the Tales of the Jedi era, combined with a little of the PT/KOTOR era.

Vader's armor is supposed to look like old Sith battle armor. Remember he doesn't appear until after the Sith have won and wiped out the jedi.
Old Republic actually has the soldiers of the Republic dress like the Clone Troopers. This creates historic precedent for why the Clone Troopers appear they way they do.

There are a bunch of Disney princesses who are ripe targets for falling to the Dark Side, but none of them is as prime a candidate as Ariel. She has a lot of similarities to Anakin, really. You could easily see Ursula being a Sith Lord and tempting Ariel to become her apprentice, in order for her to attain the ability to see Eric.

Yeah I've been playing KOTOR 1 and 2 lately so it's been fresh on my mind. I have this fantasy idea of a KOTOR 3 with the premise being the Sith are in demise and Jedi are hunting them down to extinction. Mace Windu talked about the old Sith Hunters, but this is the era when they come in. The Rule of Two is established by Darth Bane so as your character party goes around taking out Sith, you're basically just doing Darth Bane's work for him..

I wanted that connection made. It's so goofy with them saying there are only Two sith and then suddenly everyone everywhere has red lightsabers. This hypothetical third KOTOR would be about HOW they went from terrorizing and ruling parts of the galaxy to functionally extinct for years. How the Republic had it's hayday and the Sith were defeated, despised and then eventually forgotten about.

The Sith Hunters are called the Jedi Inquisition and they all use purple lightsabers, their own radical faction of Jedi.

I was just about to post this on the Disney parks thread when the mods nuked it. Anyway, this video includes a demonstration of putting a red kyber crystal into a Sith holocron. The crystal unlocks Vader's voice:

At 7:16, Vader says "The Jedi confused indifference with peace, dogma with knowledge, and weakness with serenity...." Is this dialogue from Rebels, or is it a new recording for this toy? It doesn't sound like James Earl Jones; could it be Chad Vader doing the voice?

This is the thing, they didn't know that. By the time the movies roll around the Sith have been gone for about as long as Goths haven't been a thing in human history. For the galaxy at large there wasn't any difference between Jedi and SIth

As much as I like the single player KotOR games, the aesthetic is really stupid. It's supposed to be thousands of years before the movies and yet everything looks exactly the same. It's not just the Sith. It's really uncreative, but I guess it had to be recognisably "Star Wars" for people to accept.

That's something that actually was cool, Darth Bane in TCW. That's a glimpse of what Lucas imagined the distant past of the SW universe to look like.

That sounds like new audio. The recording method isn't great for picking up 1:1 audio, but to me it sounds like the voice actor doesn't have anywhere near the same resonance as Jones, and they pitch shifted it a little when editing it to approx. the timbre of Vader.

Matt Sloan, Lucasfilm's go-to replacement when they can't afford James Earl Jones. He got his start doing fan videos playing a parody character named Chad Vader (this was years before the name became a meme) who was Darth Vader's dork brother stuck working as a grocery store manager.

For example, Belle is absolutely a Jedi. All her "flaws" are just misunderstandings by the folks in her village, she's a goody two-shoes through and through. She might be a bit of a Qui-Gon type Jedi, somewhat unorthodox, but she'd never be a Sith.

I always had the same complaint, especially since the Tales if the Old Republic took place approximately 50 years before the games. Tales had this neat, kind of wooden technology, aesthetic that still looked Star Wars, only to immediately be replaced galaxy-wide with this modern look.

I think had the KOTOR games been 3000-2000 years before the movies (where there is virtually no lore going on), that would have made more sense.

Sadly no. Honestly I think he's one of the worst Vader VA's because he can sound somewhat like JEJ but he has none of the gravitas. The reason his voice works as Chad Vader is because Chad being an unmenacing loser is the entire joke. Using the exact same voice for the actual Vader doesn't really work. I've never understood why they got him in the first place.

I mean Kreia and her students are special in that they follow her insane methodology that turned them all into monsters instead of just corrupting them.

I wish the lore would just follow more of the non-standard Sith. Like Momin from the vader comic who was just an emaciated nerd in a mask for so long that it became his "face" and when he died a sith artifact that replaced the wearer with himself or Karness Muur who rocked the six pack.

I really love the idea, gradually advanced by both Tales of the Jedi and the rest of the EU, that the Jedi can go to a Force afterlife when they die based on how well they've aligned themselves with the Force--and, on the other hand, the idea that the Sith's souls get annihilated when they die UNLESS they've tied themselves to some kind or relic or another: a holocron, a statue, a tomb, etc.. It's a very fitting way of characterizing both orders, and it particularly captures how focused on the temporal and the material the Sith ultimately are, versus the Jedi with their focus on the transcendent and the eternal.

Really a fan of the militant Jedi aesthetic, also like the Bounty hunters and whatever the fuck the twi'lek is supposed to be. The Smuggler is a bit too western but it works. The sith both look idiotic, and the trooper design is somehow both lazy and overly complex.

Have you people ever read an Iron Man book beyond going by the MCU? He was selling literal weapons until the 'Nam. Even then he was selling weapons, but just to SHIELD instead of the US. He literally created and titled the "War Machine" armor back in #281. He wears a WMD on his back and goes out to fight robots and dragons, when he could very well control it remotely. He's an andrenaline junkie. Don't confuse him with the pussy whipped MCU version.

Christ, just go to /tv/ already. Besides, the whole point of the thread is that they're Sith. Being a Sith kinda sorta implies that you're an oppurtunistic, murderous asshole.
