>>108047974>Did they give up on the animated series again?Probably? I feel like a movie or a series has been something that's been teased since the beginning, but inevitably always gets delayed without any real update. Who knows?
>What happened story wise in the newest album?Murdoc went to prison claiming he was framed for smuggling by a gangster named El Mierda, and had a big Skype ARG where fans participated in helping with his convoluted breakout. The rest of the band was pretty much better off, and replaced him with Ace. But without Murdoc around to put him down, 2D became much cockier and outspoken. Part of the ARG then entailed convincing Noodle to hunt down El Mierda and attack his hideout in Patagonia to prove Murdoc's innocence. She was ready to leave Murdoc to rot after everything he did in the past, but he led her to believe that El Mierda might have been responsible for the recent shift in 2D's behavior through supernatural means, so she agrees to help for 2D's sake. She receives a notice that he actually went to prison over unpaid parking tickets and bitching at the judge, and would have gotten out in a few days. She eventually finds out that El Mierda was retired from crime the whole time, and that Murdoc set up the whole thing for attention out of his fear to be forgotten.
Meanwhile Murdoc continues his big dramatic jailbreak none the wiser, and ends up supposedly drowning in the prison sewer while tunneling out. He suddenly shows up later, not knowing how he survived, but remembering a glimpse of a strange dark image. He feels like he has to start making amends for the past and realizes that Noodle was declaring a suicidal one-woman war on El Mierda's hideout because of what he did. He ships himself to Patagonia with a note requesting that El Mierda take him instead and spare Noodle. Noodle intercepts him, unconscious, half frozen, and tied to a yak, and they head home.
