Since it was a new monster in every episode, it actually has more original animation than most Hanna-Barbera cartoons of the era. It also takes itself VERY seriously, like Jonny Quest seriously, and Godzooky is only there for short moments of levity (he's less intrusive than you'd think).
It's a weird depiction of Godzilla, but almost makes sense considering it was made during the Showa Era where Godzilla was portrayed as a heroic figure who actively helped humans save the earth. His laser eyes are... strange (a BS&P mandate, apparently), but Godzilla was always pulling new powers out of his ass at the end of the Showa era, too, so it isn't entirely out of nowhere for that period.
Watch 3 episodes. If you hate them, quit, because in the tradition of all Hanna Barbera shows, every episode is essentially the same.
