>>107909771>I’m just looking to better understand why this is happening.Bendis and King are driving Superman and Batman, respectively, into the fucking ground, and those are DC's two big money makers. Combine that with their big event comic, Heroes in Crisis, being one of their all-time fucking worst events and their big prestige much hyped limited series, Doomsday Clock, is in perpetual delay, and what you're left with is DC's money makes (Superman, Batman, and events) falling flat.
Meanwhile, Marvel's new EiC, Akira Yoshida, has been trying (how succesful he's been at it is debatable) to fix a lot of the mistakes of the Alonso-era and that has gotten Marvel a lot of good will back.
So you've got DC doing poorly while Marvel is doing well, and since this is percentage-based, the better one does, the worse it looks for the other. If Marvel was also doing poorly, then DC would look like it's doing comparatively better. Basically, Marvel is currently going through its "Rebirth" boom while DC is actively trying to throw away any and all interest they got from Rebirth.
