>>107786319Not even, it's just dumb to jump to psychoanalyze fragility and vanity from every request at representation. Someone asking for more white characters in Apex Legends is completely in the right, but I'm not going to assume that they are unable to enjoy the game without more white representation or that they're vain or fragile. Hell, someone doesn't even have to be white to have that opinion.
>>107786361That's changing the subject and everyone has their own reasons. To me, it's to say that a work of fiction isn't just for one demographic and, in cases like in the OP, it gives a sense of realism. Isn't it weird that in all of the universe, three infinity stones were in New York? It's kind of strange that even though American whites are in a vast global minority, they are the ones the most important super things happen to. Trying to shed a light as to what super things are happening to Asian and Asian Americans is to remind us that they've been having super shit happening to them to. But not to the Indians.
>>107786398There is a lack of Indian super heroes and when they reach out by covering Asia they continue the tradition of forgetting India is an Asian country. It's a funny joke, but yeah the Dr. Strange comment is out of line.
>You are not entitled to representation simply because you exist.Right, but that's not what was implied. This attitude you bring to these conversations are selective. If someone was laughing about the lack of some favorite fantasy race in some fantasy game, I don't think you'd be talking about how "entitled" they are, but rather how they're making their tastes and preferences known and stating general disappointment. We're quick to judge requests and critique as "entitled" when it's something we don't like.
>>107786434He even said "Indian". He's not complaining about the lack of "east hindi" representation, but you're taking it a step further. He could split hairs further, but he didn't.
