>>107810998The whole new 52 into rebirth thing was just so unplanned. They should have been prepping for it years earlier. Damn shame because it COULD have been much better than it was, like GL tried as hard as it could to ignore the rest of the entire universe changing cause johns wanted to finish his stuff, and all of a sudden Hal was a completely different character and no one at all knew what the hell was up with the Guardians or other human lanterns, let alone the other corps colors, which are still kinda muddled at the mo. Didn't help that they shoved in another two mostly irrelevant, and let's be honest, socially/politically driven earth lanterns into the mess before/during the whole shitstorm.
The writers and editorial need to sit the fuck down and figure out what they want to do with Superman, how the rest of the verse exists with him inside of it and where they want the stories to go. It was just so ham fisted and unsure at the start, I think the single reason it didn't collapse straight away was Grant Morrison's decent writing on Superman, you can easily see how quickly the universe goes to shit more or less the moment he stepped out of the books.
Going from New 52 into Rebirth was something of a renaissance for the whole thing, but it's more or less just dropped back to New 52 with a hint of post crisis, which again seems to have been fucked with, this time by the one and only Bendis. The comic book writer Bendis. Yes the bald guy who writes comcis. THE Bendis...my only real hope at this point is somehow this whole Doomsday Clock Doc Manhattan stuff that's going on at the moment solves a ton of issues going on, but I doubt it considering the delays.
Why, why did this all have to happen at the same time Marvel decided to tank the industry? I really don't think it's going to survive desu. I've barely got anything left on my pull list anymore, which hurts.
