She hadn’t even just fucked up, she fucked up and then intentionally neglected to report it and tried to cover it up, and Hordak knew all of that. Lying to him about it after he asked her point-blank was just the icing on the cake.
I don’t blame Hordak for banishing underlings that he can’t trust, I’m just pointing out that him “testing” her instead of getting to the point and putting his cards on the table was intentionally and unnecessarily cruel. Which is supposed to kinda be his thing, so, good on the writers there.
Also it was totally in line with Catra’s upbringing with Shadow Weaver and pretty much whole life philosophy to lie in that moment and attempt to save herself, so it’s not like it was a weird move on her part.
