>>107562852All these anons are right, that Spider-Man is Marvel's most famous and popular character, with lots of readers who cared about his relationship with MJ, while Hank Pym was a B-list member of the Avengers before they became hugely popular, and Pym/Wasp was at most the 2nd most important or popular couple in Avengers. There were simply less people outraged by Hank hitting Wasp, and because the characters were in cartoons or selling toys, there was less need to never mention it again. It was the biggest thing to happen to him in years, and they spent a lot of time dealing with the aftermath of it.
In context, both Hank and Peter were in the middle of a nervous breakdown when it happened, but Peter doesn't seem to know what he's done until it's too late, and reacts in horror immediately, while Hank knowingly hits Wasp, without remorse.
Marvel have tried several times, in different ways, to close the door on Hank being a wifebeater, but it's still the think he's most known for (Wizard magazine shares some of the blame for this with every online comics forum to ever discuss Hank), so it's never forgotten for long.
