Isn't there literally a comic that just is the movie, which has concluded by the way. I don't think it's been officially confirmed it's the same plot as the movie but features that same exact heart thing from the teaser.

If that comic really tells the same story, then the movie really won't be anything that interesting.
The heart thingy puts people in a coma, it turns into a giant, gets blown up and everything turns back to normal. The rest is Sadie's band filler bullshit.

That's it. No real plot relevance, no character development, no particular lore revelations. It's fairly pointless.

From their perspective half of them was murderers and they have every right to be the judge in their society, they're not humans and they don't view themselves as individuals so each gem isn't worth as much in their society as a human in most of ours. Whether you think that the show is right and their views should be fundamentally changed there's a reason you can't convict people doing things before they get illegal, and from the perspective of non CG gems they didn't do a lot of morally wrong things except hunt down flawed gems and be dicks to their sister. Not waiting for the loyal soldiers to get out was shitty though.
