Seriously, I wish they had a better explanation in the comics for why they are hated.
The movie skips that bullshit because there isn’t any normal humans that are born with powers without being a mutant.
Then again all X-Men stories are the same, so whats the point in explaining why they are hated?

Allegedly Marvel was planning to do that anyway and that's why they were doing all that stuff with the inhumans and the clouds sterilizing and killing mutants. But that shit fell through. Remember, before the sudden announcements of X-Men Blue and Gold they put out a list of the new ongoing titles and only X-23 and Deadpool were on there along with the X-Men vs Inhumans event.

And now the X-Men line is drowning every other book, almost 2/3 of the titles before War of The Realms came out, so I'm not sure what's worse. I honestly don't care much about the mutants, I prefer their cosmic side which at this point is basically neglected.

Hickman is writing a couple X-Men minis and hopefully he stays on and takes the brand under his wing. If anyone can revitalize them it'd be him. They're not in a bad spot right now. Last I checked their titles are still selling well. X-fags support the comics, we've seen that during the Inhuman push.

I mean I'm not really saying it's a bad thing in terms of sales, I mean that it basically overtook the line, unlike last year i've been progressively less interested in new books to the point I'm stuck reading things only because I like the writer, not the characters or the premises (in many cases). And honestly I like Hickman well enough, but him writing the X-Men is very conflicting to me because he'd really have to be stellar in there to make me care about them.

I think he'll do good. The only problem is that Hickman likes his OCs and that's been an ongoing issue with the X-Men. Every new writer makes their own characters and shoves all the other ones aside. At least when Wanda said no more mutants that put a stop to it but now they're right back at it.

As it stands every X-Man story is the same and not in a good way. If it wasn't for Marvel marketing they would have made the right decision a while ago.

I'd actually prefer if mutant hating was put on everyone with powers. Make the Purifiers a threat in other non-mutant comics. Have Nimrod be an Avenger-tier threat. Actually integrate the problems that the X-Men face so that makes them more organic to other stories. That was actually what Marvel was doing for the first Marvel NOW when they were putting mutants on Avengers teams.

Last issue of Champions had a group of people rallying against Dust for being a mutant, then go crazy when a bunch of other heroes appear and assume they're mutants too.

Only because they were trying to help her. 99% of the time in that comic people were cheering them on. That's the big thing about Champions, they're this brand and symbol of justice that the common people can rally behind. They get twitter love and actually get tips submitted by people about potential crimes.

It's the same as "Batman is the bad guy in Red Hood" or "everyone jobs to Deathstroke in his book." Some titles just turn everyone into dicks that get taken down a peg. It's pretty notorious how Captain America is portrayed in X-Men comics in that he allows the mutants to be pushed around and blindly follows orders from the government.
