what's with the lack of epics in maintream /co/ media?
I'm using epic in the academic sense of a mythic narrative about 'the origin and birth of a culture'
from the outright mythological stuff like the garden of eden, zeus slaying kronos, the rise and fall of the tuatha de danaan, romulus and remus etc to somewhat more historic stuff like the romance of the three kingdoms, the american (and other colonies) war for independence, and that kind of jazz?
even in wholly fictional settings its seemingly never about a new society coming about from wild chaos and instead the emphasis is on shit happening in an already established culture
