>>106572295The piggyback on this: There still feels like there's still this sense that, when two gay people meet up, they are immediately hooked up or gay couples just fall from the sky in pairs.
Since someone brought up America Chavez, right now she's on her third romantic interest, and just like the previous two, Lisa and Magnalena, Ramone just appeared on one page as her girlfriend with none of the courting or dating or whatever else. Mary Jane debuts in issue #42 of ASM, it takes ONE HUNDRED ISSUES before Peter and her have their first kiss. That's an extreme case, but there's build up, there's this depth of drama and romance and learning and all of that to cement Peter and MJ.
Maybe I'm too old fashioned or "heteronormative" or whatever, but maybe writer's can slow down with Chavez (and other lesbian characters) and entertain the reader with some dates, some "will they wont they", some rival suitors and triangles, so you can flesh out your main character and not look so giddy to get to "hee hee girls kissing aren't I progressive?"
