Two drunk (I assume) guys started crying halfway through Incredibles 2. They were both muttering under their breath about how circumstances shouldn’t reflect on people’s actuons. It was complete gibberish but they were both crying.

I sat in front of a pair of loud fujos for Civil War. They kept spouting Twitter memes and leaning back with their feet digging into the back of my chair.

Not /co/ related, but a sorta elderly man in a tattered jacket started throwing popcorn in the theater when I saw District 9. It was beyond hilarious. Mostly because I was out of the firing range and he was screaming at the lady behind him.

I saw the first Captain America in a theater, and before the lights dimmed, I saw a family come in that included a grandpa. The family seemed nice and the kids were well-behaved. They were all sitting behind me.

During the war montage sequence of Steve and the Howling Commandos, there was some shuffling and I heard the grandpa say in a very emotional voice:

The grandpa then left the theater, and after a moment, the father (I assume his son) left to go check up on him.

I guess it brought back some old WW2 memories for him that he didn't want to revisit.

Crazy story about when I watched Se7en in the theater. You gotta remember that this was 1995 and cellphones weren't common back then and movie theaters didn't really have rules about phone use.

So this asshat walked in about 5 minutes into the movie TALKING on his phone noticeably loudly and it wasn't even about something important. If I remember correctly, he was talking about a basketball game his kid played in. This continued for another 3-4 minutes and I decided that I had had enough. I turned to my girlfriend and said "excuse me for a second." She knew what I was about to do and gave me one of those "I want to have sex with you" stares. So I walked up to him and grabbed his phone out of his hand. I then spoke to the person on the other end and said "I'm sorry, but this conversation is now OVER" and then I threw the phone on the ground shattering it to a thousand pieces.

The kid running the movie projector was so moved that he stopped the filming and had security turn on the lights and escort the man out of the theater. Before they grabbed him, he looked at me and said "hey man, I'm really sorry. I should have been more considerate." And as they were walking him out of the theater and I was walking back to my seat, everyone in the theater gave me a standing ovation. Another girl broke up with her boyfriend right there and asked if she could be my second girlfriend. I asked my girlfriend if it was okay and she said for sure.

When I was 10, South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut came to theaters. But the problem was that me and my childhood friend were too young to go to see it. So we got this idea to pretend to be a couple so we would look like teenagers. My friend put on a cheap party wig and put on makeup (too bad I don't have any photos, but he probably looked awful), and I stole something from my older brother's closet. When we were buying the tickets I tried to speak some "adult topics" to my "girlfriend".

And yes we got in. Most likely because the cashier didn't even give a shit we were too young. Or she pitied us. But it's a fun memory.

Me and my friend went to.watch the 5th Wave since he was hyped about it and I haven't seen him ever since he moved to California. There were 10 people in the theater: two couples, a group of five people and an old guy (12 including us two). 15 minutes on the film, I think everyone realized the film sucked. So the room simply became a 12-person riff session on the film with people taking shots and doing dialogue redubs. It was a magical moment, ended up seeing the old man again when I went to watch BlackKkKlansmen justea month ago

Went to a Night Showing of the Emoji Movie
Me and a couple of friends went to see it cause fuck it. We were all banking on it being "So Bad it's Good" and it was. Fucking good laughs and ripping in the movie all around. Normally I feel like a asshole doing it in a public, but the majority of people there were teens to adults. Everyone was doing it. Everyone came here to laugh and have a good time. Amazing
The movie ends. And right when it fades to black and credits start playing my friend on the left gets up and applauds it. Everyone joined in. Whistles, screams, and clapping filled that theater that night

Watched Treasure Planet in IMAX 70mm with my girlfriend at the time (who I later married many years later).
It was our first ever IMAX experience and it was amazing.
The cinema was empty (and that's a good thing, since were making out during the end credits).
To this day, Treasure Planet is my favourite Disney animated film.
Too bad Disney sabotaged that movie.

Me and a friend recently saw The Lego Movie 2. It was an early showing so it was just us and some parent and her kid.

It was a really good movie, me and my friend were laughing the entire time. shame that it's performing low at the box office.

I went to see a free showing of back to the future at a small local cinema they were hosting as a part of a fundrsiser. It was fine until the end where Marty’s dad punched out Biff, no joke, the audience comprised of primarily parents and older patrons started to fucking clap. It was just so... weird and uncomfy. It happened again when Lorraine and George kissed at the dance.
I would understand if it was a stage play or something but clapping at an almost 40 year old kids movie?

This was back when the original spider-man movie was out. My dad, my brother, and I saw it opening weekend. After seeing it we just kept sneaking into any theater that was showing it after we watched a different movie. We probably watched that movie like 8 times while it was still in theaters.

A weird one off. This was when the clone wars animated movie came out. My dad, for no reason, pointed out Ahsoka on one of the promotional posters and just told me that she was pretty sexy. This man has never said anything like this before or after this event.

Latest one was when i watched Bumblebee a second time. A group of teenaged girls sat behind me and I distinctly remember during at least two scenes where Charlie's and Bee were talking with each other, they were hushed chanting "kiss him kiss him kiss him!".
