>>106290367He is responsible in large part for a lot of the most famous Marvel heroes. If Stan Lee wasn't around there would be no Spider-man, whereas if Steve Ditko wasn't around Spider-man would've just looked different (and yes maybe have been less popular as a result). And if Jack Kirby had written all these characters completely on his own they might not have worked so well. I've read stuff he wrote on his own and it wasn't the best. So Stan did a lot, the artists also did a lot. There was something special going on at that time period between those minds and it can't be replicated. Stan himself hadn't made anything memorable on his own in a long time either since those early days. I feel like while Stan maybe took too much credit in the early years, he backpedaled and was more generous about it later years. In any case, he gets enough shit about it already from comic fans. And he really seemed to be exploited by the people around him in his final years, so he got his karma already. I just appreciate all the people involved, none of them were angels or demons.
