General consensus is that the first 2 seasons were ass, which made people not really watch the show, and then the last 2 seasons the writers just went crazy and those are actually good, but only a handful of people watched them because of the sour taste the first two left in people's mouths.

All I remember about this show was the horny giraffe girl who desperately wanted to fuck the main human boy. And it's not like she thought he was a giraffe or anything, it was just an animal that really wanted to get it on with a human. It was kinda weird.

I loved the show as a kid, but it always felt like the same show to me throughout its run. What changed, exactly?

I rewatched Animal School Musical last year and it's still kino. The songs are great.
