Samsungs are practically entirely glued together so you need a heatgun or heatpad to loosen the all glue to open it up to fix a screen. The back is also entirely glass so if you don't heat the glue enough it will break on you when you try to pry it up. They're such a PITA that we just transfer all components into a new frame because just replacing the screen is way to time consuming.
Note 7's are even more fucked up but thankfully we don't really get those thanks to the recall.
Iphones are easier because it's all held together by screws, two on the bottom on the outside and then you can pry up the screen and open the entire thing like a book. Unscrew some shields protecting the connectors, disconnect those, transfer the home button to the new screen, and unless you also need to transfer the camera & sensor, bang boom pow, you are done. Just connect the new screen, screw back on the shields and screen
