This miniseries was surprisingly good so far. They handled the binary choice ending well in the comic with Max flashes between worlds where she chose a,b and even alternate options not in the game.

Max is probably going to die as a result of her powers, the comic has shown she can't really control them anymore and keeps getting worse nosebleeds. It's also a way to write her out of the franchise if Dontnod want to continue with other storylines.

It's interesting that they're showing alternate timelines totally unrelated to Max and/or unrelated to the Season 1 binary ending. For example, Rachel Amber shows up in one of the flashes, despite her being killed 6 months prior to Max arriving back in Arcadia Bay and seemingly receiving her powers. In another we see an Arcadia Bay where there was no storm, but both Chloe and Max are still alive (the flash with Dana). I guess it makes sense that there could be this whole myriad of potential alternate timelines, but I think a lot of us were assuming that they would all be tied more closely to Max's decisions - or, at least, that the timelines Max had access to with her powers would be tied to her decisions. It makes the stuff with the storm at the end of Season 1 seem a little more odd given that it was (seemingly) set up due to Max's actions ... but it never made much sense anyway, so if the comic folks have a better way to explain what was going on with all the supernatural junk, I'm happy for them to go for it.

I recently played the game and the prequel. Pretty good stuff. Chloe got on my nerves a few times, but she grew on me. The alternate Chloe was cute and sad; I felt bad when I helped her die. Veronica is SUCH A BITCH.

Nope, not as of the second episode. I'm pretty sure there are a few name drops in newspaper articles/letters from Captain Spirit (Chris' mother was a student at Blackwell Academy, she received a letter from Principal Wells and I think the Prescott family is mentioned), but that's it.

Another cute little factoid is that Chris' dad is voiced by the same guy who voiced Frank in Before the Storm (the game Dontnod had nothing to do with, go figure).

She was a self-centred irresponsible bitch, but her friendship with Max was well written. Or at least Max's dependence on the friendship. Before the Storm was an all right expansion into Chloe's character, and gets extra points from me for the Shakespeare stuff.
