You ever notice how many cartoons say they were influenced by Sailor Moon?

Why? I mean, I know Sailor Moon is popular as all hell. I understand it influenced the course of magical girl anime in Japan but why is this like the only show people watched for influence? I mean, you basically never see anybody say "I was influenced by Dragon Ball Z/Pokemon/Yugioh/Speed Racer/etc" when making cartoons but why is Sailor Moon okay (Also I strongly doubt these people watched more than the first season of it)

The only exception to this is Daron Nefcy who feels like she watched like a fuckton of magical girl anime and put it in Star vs.
