But yeah Giffen did away with the Nova corps for a reason although he's partially to blame for the Nova corps turning more into the GL corps (he's the one who named them Nova corps, gave them all matching outfits, made them all have powers like Rich, and made Xandar like Oa).
The one who made them into GL clones was Nicieza in the Starlost Saga when he had Adora come back from the dead and declare that they were going to be a police force and protect space. She rebranded the Xandarian militia into the Xandarian Starcorps.
If Cates uses his edgyness to kill the Nu Nova corps and leaves Rich as a solo act again I would be fine with it.
>>105761840I think Diamondhead and Sphinx have potential of being good villains. Sphinx's premise is interest but he just needs a personality. Diamondhead is a ruthless asshole that gave Rich a world of hurt, betrayed Xandar in the most horrible way, and did a lot of fucking damage for a small time crook. He is also made of diamond like Emma (which I guess he's also immune to telepath attacks) except he can regrow his diamond form if he gets a limb chopped off so he has potential of being OP as fuck.
I hated how everyone later on just treated him later on.DnA had Rich treat him as a nobody when Rich has a good cause to hate him, Loeb had Sam defeat him like nothing, Zdarsky tried to make him sympathetic when Black Cat kidnapped him and was using him as an endless supply of diamonds and then had Star-Lord, of all people, rescue him when Peter would fricking let him rot if he knew the shit he has done to Rich.
