Can confirm - Vakueva's sketches are pretty interesting and masterful, like whenever she goes travelling and sketches the buildings and crowd around her.

Still kinda bugs me how she ended up joining a project by someone's who clearly wanted to make less of a playground and more of a soapbox, but hey, even the most decent of artists have their own most regrettable pieces...kinda glad Nina moved on to better things, and I wish her well.

Yeah I subscribed to the first couple issues thinking it'd be something good and different.
I like to support new, small series.
But then it just became wholly uninteresting to me. I don't think changing the damn name (from pic related) after a couple issues help them either.
The girls are good looking at least.

The main characters weren't even written bad, just the whole action-intrigue plot whatever. I would have loved it if it was just girl-power record store all the time (I found it after the name change, so the fight-club aspect wasn't as obvious until I started reading)

Mid-90s record store full of people who wouldn't actually be found in a mid-90s record store that wasn't catering to a niche market who also run a secret fight club in the basement consisting entirely of the employees and owners who are also a vigilante group that is part of a wider vigilante group of female record store employees and musicians. Also there is something about music companies brainwashing musicians into becoming pop singers and something like 3/4ths of the cast is a lesbian.

Imagine Empire Records except it's a much less interesting comic book written a fairly vanilla guy from /d/.
