I'm sure you'd disagree, and frankly I don't have the interest to find out, so don't be shocked when I don't respond after this, but my white ass grew up loving Peter Parker. I think he being from Queens losing his Uncle to random street crime, and always suffering at the mercy of that Parker Luck made him a prime candidate to be given a different race. If they did, I wouldn't have minded, nor felt I lost anything. What it would have done is opened up the character on a different level to a new audience that mind have been more willing to so so after receiving the actual hero instead of just being gifted the the pandering placeholder/sidekick.
