Frequency is the corresponding measurement to FPS in analogue, but despite humans not being able to notice much of a difference past 20-22 Hz, most will report that 60 FPS is noticeably different than 30 FPS and will more likely than not note an uncanny quality to 60 FPS if they're accustomed to 30 due to the brain effectively "strobing" through nondiscrete oscillating snapshots caught by the visual cortex. Since the brain can't pick and choose which frames to keep like an animator or film editor would, awkward "frames" will get slipped in to the flipbook. Over time, the brain can adjust to 60 FPS and accept the awkward "frames" as normal movement.
