>>105344368>we never saw Star's real reaction to not being a true butterfly but instead got shipping>Star doesn't go with Moon and Eclipsa to see Meteora but instead goes to see Ponyhead and that results in literally nothingI've said it a lot before but Star was too underused in the plot episodes of S3, and I'm not sure if that was intentional or what.
Did they think that someone who's written as a spirited, proactive, impulsive person would realistically ask too many questions or do too many things that it'd be implausible for the plot to be dragged out as long as it was? Ex. Star asks point-blank who Eclipsa's kid was or just asks about her family way earlier than it happens in the show, Eclipsa mentions Meteora, the notion of the MHC cover-up etc. is thus brought up even before Monster Bash. But since something like that, if it happened in-universe, would just prevent the whole METEORA SMASH plotline, it's easier to just leave Star out of it entirely.
Or maybe it's some misguided attempt at developing ALL the characters, and forgetting that Star, as the main character, was deliberately written as never doing anything of worth for most of the season so that others would get highlighted. Like there's a balance between "Show Star and Star alone" and "Show Star, but don't forget about the rest of the cast too," but they went too far to the second extreme by making her so often feel like nothing.
Seriously, there are just so many episodes where Star more or less just stands around and someone like Pony Head or a new character introduced that season gets most of the lines/action, or Star is left out of the most major plot in favor of Moon + Eclipsa. I don't really get it.
