Go with the one from the 90s cartoon. That one had armor and was covered in muscles so it made more sense that he could tussle with Spider-Man and not get downed in one hit.

On another note I purposed this idea in the drawthread because it was neat; what if other Sinister Six members became "Superior" instead of Otto? Superior Kraven, Superior Electro, that kind of thing

In universe he had to use a different costume because the superior ock duds was what he wore when Hydra took over American as well as everyone just instantly knowing he was Doc Ock and assuming he was just pulling another big plan of pretending to be a hero.

Otto wasn't good. The Otto that became an antihero deleted himself at the end of Superior. The Otto we have now is the one that was halfway through Superior when he went to the future and then got whisked away to Spiderverse and then went full villain before getting beaten, had his memories of that erased, but had a backup of his memories stored on a robot where he then uploaded himself onto Robot and then got a cloned body from Jackal and then a better body that was a hybrid of his original as well as Peter's. He then finds his hideout taken over by Hydra and is given an offer to join them and he uses it to try to get all the information from Parker Industries. Peter destroys all the information and Otto goes to his own plans. Armin Zola then tells him he has to keep working for Hydra, he tells them to fuck off and fights them off. He actually dies in the fight against Gorgon but has a duplicate body and uses it to kill Gorgon.

I want this series to have at least one arc of Otto having to deal with villains that he directly or indirectly created over the years. Lady Octopus, Spider-Woman, Stunner. I could try and find more but the Marvel wikia is a fuckin mess.

,and maybe even duplicates of it. so if no new costumes are introduced, this one may do a short comeback.

Charlotte Witter was a woman Otto experimented on who became a human/spider hybrid, she has nothing of special that could be used.

And its implied he saw Hydra as having a clear upper-hand over the world. I would Put Otto as one of the rare people that choose to join.
Octavius doesn't perceive the good/vilain separation as your average reader that's why he was into Hydra-cap Avengers.

All it takes is someone using her (or another character) regularly and using them well for people to care. Kaine was gone from comics for like a decade before he showed up during BND. Scarlet Spider, nearly 15 years after he had seen regular use, turned him into a Spider-Man mainstay and made him popular.

All it takes for a character is one good run of appearances.
