I am not sure what it will be about, but with a red gem so prominently featured I strongly suspect we are looking at Red Diamond, the dark secret of the Diamond Authority; the original final member of the four.
The diamonds represent four aspects, four elements, four humors, four concepts - Four gradations in dealing with emotion. Blue is strongly affected by emotion. Yellow controls here. White feels no normal emotions. I propose Red Diamond was completely controlled by her emotion, her passionate fury, and was thus a threat to the authority of the Diamonds.
So they imprisoned her, maybe bubbled her, and created another version... but this one would have a little something added: something to take the edge of uncontrollable passion, namely a little bit of White's icy distance.
Result: a diamond who is full of passion and emotion, but who is also a bit aloof, an outsider. A pink diamond.
It makes sense to me. The original hazard warning the diamond authority logo appears to be based on has a red quarter, not a pink one.
