It's the reality of the market. Franchise sets sell more than the normal sets. What's a kid more likely to ask his parents to buy him? A Lego City set, or a Star Wars set?

They weren't sure in advance the movie would be successful. They had to throw in a Batman guarantee to remain safe.

But now that the Movie has proven itself to be a success, We might actually get some Lego underwater fun.
