But don't say you weren't warned when this movie gets TLJ treatment and all discussion of this movie is polluted by anti-SJWs spewing rhetoric. This in turn will result in the movie's defenders calling out anyone who voices legitimate criticism of the film as being sexist. No, but it's not going to be some huge hit either.
Larson isn't a huge name on her own and Carol isn't that popular either. There's no "cultural milestone" bullshit they can pull like they did with Black Panther because Wonder Woman beat them to it.
At best, it'll hit $800m, outside of Spider-Man and Black Panther, the highest grossing MCU origin is GotG at $772m, and Carol has no competition until Shazam four weeks later.

Yes, not even Marvel itself thought BP was going to make that kind of money. Hell no one expected Iron Man to be that good or even Winter Soldier to be a big success.

Carol's movie will do good just by virtue of being a Marvel Studios movie, but it won't be the giant success Feige wants it to be. It won't get 1B and going forward BP will be the face of the MCU.
