No, really. Think about it. Why wouldn't they start a war? They came from small and contained island where order was easy to enforce and keep population under control.
But now they are set loose on no-mans land. It's anyones game to come out on top and claim whatever resources they want, be that minerals/food/water/candy(sentient or othervise).
Sooner or later there will be somekind of war between all the new factions formed, it may take a generation or two but there will be war.
