>>105134373I like the Thirteen as a concept but I'm not entirely happy with either of their rosters.
I feel like the Aligned Thirteen tries too hard to provide the first example of a bunch of shit.
>The first girl one>The first animal one>The first small one (why are they still trying to make mini-cons a thing?)>The first transforming one>The first combining onePlus the 'what are you smoking' tier Megatronus and Optimus Prime.
I'm not a fan of Quintus Prime. What's the point in making the creator of the Quintessons a Cybertronian?
Then the other Thirteen has some bizarre choices. Like you said, some Jap exclusive version of Soundblaster, as well as two IDW gods.
Alpha Trion as a member of the Thirteen I'm happy to take or leave. I do like Liege Maximo, Prima, Last Autobot and Vector Prime as members.
>>105134531It's a shame almost all of the IDW Thirteen were dickheads but I did actually like the mythology of them. To me it made sense that they were essentially Thirteen warlords/tribal leaders who over ages became deified: that's the kind of stuff real religions form out of, and I thought feudal/barbarian Cybertron was a really cool setting rather than it being a technological wonderland from the start.
The Guiding Hand was handled fucking awfully however.
>woah the bad guy was actually the good guy and the good guy was a bad guy!! weren't expecting that were you?>data creep and development of legend over time? no dude everyone just got hit with a forgetting gun and forgot it all :)>btw the best god is my OC psychiatrist lmao>also all five gods were just random friends you made along the way!!Both branches of the story attempted to deconstruct their pantheons but the Thirteen were handled a million times better than the Guiding Hand, whose their origin now means Titans stick out like a sore thumb. Furthermore, their origin makes 0 sense seeing as the theme seems to be 'the gods aren't real!' and yet Rung was born with a fucking serial number.
