Grant Morrison is awful at writing comics for the big two.
Marvel were on a roll with Disassembled, House of M, Civil War, World War Hulk and Secret Invasion. They fucked it up with Siege and Fear Itself.
DC had a great thing going with Identity Crisis, Omac Saga, Villains United and Day of Vengeance. Had they not done Infinite Crisis they could have had these as major events for three years straight and not fucked up the line so badly they had to retcon a decade.
