Moses in the bible is obviously written in a way that's mythological, but that doesn't mean its ahistoric, there likely was a person or several people who fit into the Moses mold that informed what people remembered of that time iconized into a figure that's fake, and at the same time about as real as you could get to the truth. There's also the fact that prophets don't just get made up in general, they're almost always based off real people and the tradition extended into real people attaining sainthood.
I think more people are confused at Sohmer stating the bronze age wasn't real.
