>>104869104>They tried that with Justice LeagueOnly in the most superficial of ways.
Snyder did his usual dreary self serious horseshit, left the project to grieve his daughter, and they brought in Joss Whedon to "fix" a conceptually broken movie in post and reshoots.
You don't copy Marvel by upping the color saturation and ADR-ing in some comedic relief zingers. You start small with solo movies that suffer from little studio interference beyond "make sure you introduce elements X Y and Z, other than that do whatever you want".
The DCEU has a committee thinking problem while the MCU gets people like Jon Favreau and Taika Waititi and James Gunn and the Russos BECAUSE they want that kind of movie.
WB tried to do that, only to step in and let focus groups re-edit the movie because they don't understand how movies are made. It'd be like chartering a boat, then staging a mutiny because "woah, wait a minute, this madman is driving this vehicle into the OCEAN".
Aquaman and Wonder Woman work because they strike that balance of being fun movies that also feel like someone's vision. When you get a "fun" movie without vision behind it, you end up with something like Ant-Man and the Wasp or Iron Man 2; fine movies, but they lack a certain soul.
