You know, this could work.
Jen is a super, but she still has an active non-super life as well, she's not totally trapped in the super-bubble. Peter, likewise, straddles the line because he isn't Spiderman full time. And Jen can give as good as she gets, banter-wise, so Peter isn't likely to ruin things by talking too much.
Meanwhile, Peter's brig crises has always been reconciling his responsibility as Spiderman with not letting it endanger those he loves. Jen is PERFECT for this, because not only does she understand that but she is never going to be a damsel in distress for him. Any of Spidey's villains that try to 'go for the heart' and and kidnap his girlfriend will probably find themselves in a much bigger mess than they started once they find themselves facing She-Hulk.
And as a delicious icing on the cake? One of them is a lawyer and the other is a photographer working for a newspaper. Their normal lives actually mesh together with room for interplay between the two on a professional level in a way easily exploitable for stories.
This is just a great pairing, really.
