I was pleasantly surprised they were gradually foreshadowing a subplot in all the episodes. It was good they weren't beating us over the head with it constantly. Lets hope the payoff is good.

I'll only watch it if it gets great reviews. I didn't like S1 at all. The characters were too lifeless for me to give a shit about the plot in the second half. I couldn't care less if any of them live or die, which isn't a great way to start a fantasy series.

I thought Netflix was breaking up seasons. Season 1 was 20 episodes, with the 2nd batch coming in a few months and a whole new Season in August with a new storyline.

Seasons are being produced 20 episodes at a time because of animation and budget but they’re being released 10 per year. Netflix is labeling each 10 episode batch as a “part” instead of a season to avoid confusion. So they’re renewed for season 2 which will take us to part 4 in 2021.
