It’s beginning to look a lot like /co/hristmas.
The days grow colder, the nights grow longer. That means /co/ Christmas cheer is coming to town. Grab some cocoa, turn on the Christmas music, get comfy, and hang out with some /co/mrades as we share stories and get into the holiday spirit.
As previous years, share your Amazon wishlist and some random Anon may purchase a holiday gift for you. Be sure to gift another Anon in return so we can spread the cheer far and wide.
Last year we had 180 gifted anons, some more than once.

To get your wishlist code, open your wishlist on Amazon, then copy the number from the link. It will look like this:
amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/###########
We just need the ###########
Missing Address: When viewing your list, click the "…" in the upper right hand corner. From there click "Manage List" which will give you a few options including “Shipping Address”. While you’re here please check “Third party shipping agreement”. That will allow anons to buy you stuff that isn’t sold by amazon.
Lists update: 140 registered and 8 ungifted, 94% gifted.

As for Chris, I'd blame Jurgens mostly, for using a rebirthed Chris as he was (with no help from Vendetti), which is curious since Lor-Zod is an invention of Johns and the current Superboy is an invention of Jurgens (notwithstanding the agreement with the Siegel family). As for Kon, at least he won't be Lobdellized any longer.

I'd love to participate on these but I'm pretty poor specially considering where I live (Venezuela), so it's not like I can gift in a big way. I also don't really have access to buy stuff from Amazon but I buy comics from IST and CGN at least once every one or two months... They're cheaper and better handled than Amazon in any case. A week ago I bought a nice haul and wouldn't mind buy some nice things for random anons next week when I get my bonus. So to clarify: is this for Amazon only? I could maybe make a list for myself or sort the one I already have but if there's a way to buy someone a comic from their CGN or IST wishlists, I definitely would like to know, because then I could use PayPal. Just hit me up with suggestions on how to proceed, specially if you like Cosmic stuff, both classic and modern (and no matter the company but if you dig Marvel more, I'm more knowledgeable there).

Going through other sites usually require other connections made with anons, that's on reason we use amazon, you can make it anonymous to a degree.
You can always make a wishlist to share, the shipping costs may scare people a bit. But there's no obligation to gift others, it's greatly appreciated when you do spread the cheer.

I would still like to give back since I used to participate in threads like these when I used to go to /lit/ (before it was ruined) and it was always nice. So we'll see.
And yeah, I get the anonymity concerns, so I'll see if there's a way to make a list in one of the other sites I mentioned that doesn't reveal any critical information and check back, or stick to Amazon and see if I can buy some credits for those who haven't been gifted yet. The woman from Wedding and Gift Registry chatting with me today even said that whether or not she was the only Kimberly working for Amazon in that department, that she only had to tell me that she was in the United States and that it was otherwise irrelevant to whether or not she was going to help me and since it didn't seemed I had an actual problem, she was just going to end the chat, and then she did.
Fortunately, the next person was able to send me that chat via email so I had intended to complain about her, since the next person resolved my issue a bit better and a bit quicker than good old Kimberly in wherever USA.
>>104736476 >Sabrina book It's good, similar to Afterlife With Archie, which is also good, and the current Vamparonica and Jughead The Hunger. However, sadly, they haven't finished any of the stories so that trade is the only collection of Sabrina so far but you can find the floppies on various of the ROC sties.
>>104734495 >>104734552 I was so disappointed in these and I generally like AU and elseworld type stories but yeah
>>104734609 they are forgettable for a reason. I found them that AND confusing.

>>104736937 >>104736707 DTV got really crazy, I've had plenty of times people complaining about insane things.
One guy thought his neighbors were having sex with his satellite dish at night so he would unscrew his cable so the little people on his tv couldn't get pregnant.
Or the people that think that DTV made the shows and would complain about what was on TV or how loud the announcers or fans at the sports game were. Or like 4-5 years ago there was a power outage at the superbowl, half the arena went dark and people were calling in saying DTV caused the power outage to force people to pay more money for their TV service.
>>104736973 Yea agents don't have to tell you more than their first name and ID. Though most likely they weren't in the US. Official amazon support centers are in the us but most of them are out sourced groups that take the calls/texts. The way it's setup they don't work directly for amazon so they can say that all of amazon's support lines are in the US.
But thankfully all calls/messages are tracked so contacting back you can ask for a manager to review the call.
And by calling in about something you can get up to a $10 amazon credit just for complaining, each agent has that as a freebie baseline to help get you off the phone. Or if you have prime and any minor delivery issue you can get a free month added on, up to a full free year.

Damn, this Christmas is good for /co/ in the theater. Just saw Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse, HIGHLY recommend everyone seeing this, easily my favorite Spider-Man movie (yes, better than Raimi's 2 for me, I have problems with Raimi's constant horror screams)

>>104737220 As far as I can tell, they nailed the web slinging as well as the action scenes. I honestly see the story flaws in both ASM movies but hell, the action and web slinging were top notch in those two movies. Glad to see it is finally making a return because Homecoming had none of that
I gotta say though that I am a lot more hyped for Aquaman. I can't wait to see that one on the big screen
Ire
>>104737317 I was more hyped for Aquaman and I was going to skip Spider-Verse cause I'm kinda tired of all the rebooting of Spider-Man. But god damn, I am so glad I was proven wrong, there is very little chance that Aquaman can top this for me. But I will be glad to be proven wrong twice this Christmas season!

Now, I want Morrison to write an Annual issue for The Green Lantern where Hal has to come back to Earth to work as a DTV installer and also a DTV customer support rep to investigate this and it turns out that there real are tiny aliens who want to impregnate the little people on tv shows because in their dimension the broadcast signals are converted to reality when they reach this certain area in space that borders his dimension.
>>104737317 We just saw Fantastic Beast/Crimes in one of those MX4D Motion EFX theaters, which I had avoided before because it seemed way overpriced and I usually have a lot of passes to see standard 3D movies as it is, but we did this and were disappointed, which is a shame because we were considering doing it for Aquaman.

>>104737399 Planning to see both, I almost saw Ralph yesterday, I thought the original was OK and watched it at home on DVD, but I do have these free passes and prefer to wait for opening weekend crowds to diminish. I might go see a matinee of SV by myself, most of my friends will watch Pixar or some of the stuff but balk at animation they think is for kids (they refused to watch Lego Batman in theaters).

>>104737399 I just love the fact that Aquaman looks like an adventure movie because I'm a sucker for big scale movies. The DCEU really always pushes the right buttons for me except for JL. Love that the directors seem to be having a lot of creative freedom. I wish the MCU would start doing that too after not having really done it since Phase 1. I'm probably not going to see Spiderverse in the theater because I don't know anyone who would go with me and because I am already planning to see two movies this month (Aquaman and Bumblebee). I'm hyped to see Spiderverse though when it comes out on Bluray

>>104737474 3D nowadays sucks because no studio is doing it properly. I will definitely not pay for 3D shit when I can see all the movies in 2D instead.
At home, it's a whole other thing. I actually have a perfect passive-3D TV where the effects look a thousand times better than in theaters. It's amazing to watch stuff like Avatar, Pacific Rim or that that underwater documentary with Johnny Depp. Unfortunately, most movies today are only converted into 3D post-production. Colourless movies like Crimes of Grindelwald don't even stand a chance to look good anyway (I liked the movie itself tho)

>>104737158 I dunno, The accounts got notes for odd encounters, so unless that person decided out of the blue to do a single crazy call and hang up.
But there were others. One lady said that her receiver had a virus because there were too many snakes on the shows.
One lady was off her meds and would call in several times per week to explain how the people at the supermarket's eye were glowing and then all started watching her and welcomed her to hell. Or that her family had installed a magnet in the bathroom that she would get stuck to until she faded into non existence. Or how her family was like the partridge family and all were in a band. But she was cheating on her husband with the base player.
There was a guy that would call in demanding his adult channels/ppv refunded because he didn't order them, the devil did. And he refused to pay for such sinful materials.

>>104737571 >3D nowadays sucks Honestly the only movie that really stood out in 3d for me was Ant-Man cause it really added to the shrinking perspective of everything. Wish they would go back to showing more 2d, but theaters push 3d SO much cause it's an excuse to rake in more money. IF they have a 2d movie it's usually far less screenings

>>104737571 The water due to all the rain in the movie was an interesting effect as was the wind but who really wants to pay to get wet and be blown on? Parts of the 3D were done well, but yeah, I prefer when the stuff is shot in 3D but I want a good reason to go out to the theaters and 3D is sometimes it. I'll see Pixar in 3D because reconverting digital film in post production when it's rendered the way they do it, works really well. Which is why some 3D effects can look really when it's a CGI heavy film when done by the right house.
>>104737523 >Bumblebee The last movie of these I saw in theaters was the one where they destroyed Chicago because I was living there for the summer and a bunch of people I had met there wanted to see it - that was also a 3D - they did a preview for BB before Crimes and it was fine but nothing that feels differently than the first movie, which I saw with my then roommate on his girlfriend's parental units large flat screen projection tv.

I know it's the wrong place to ask but as I'm sure that there's probably at least one person who knows, I might just go ahead and give it a try. I'm currently looking for a new notebook and I found a pretty decent Acer but with Linux installed. My question is whether it's still possible to just get some version of Windows 10 online and just install it or whether formatting and installing requires a key. For some reason, most notebooks on the website I'm lurking are equipped with Linux

>>104738832 You can install Windows on it pretty easily, and you can download it from the Microsoft page without paying, but you need to buy a key to activate it

>>104739137 yeah, that's exactly what I was implying. I just don't know how
Microsoft handles pirated keys nowadays. Is it like before where you could just get a random key and everything is alright or does it instantly register the thing online and you're fucked? Mexicanon
