It’s beginning to look a lot like /co/hristmas.
The days grow colder, and the nights grow longer. That means /co/ Christmas cheer is coming to town. Grab some cocoa, turn on the Christmas music, get comfy, and hang out with some /co/mrades as we share stories and get into the holiday spirit.
As previous years share your Amazon wishlist and some random Anon may purchase a holiday gift for you. Be sure to gift another Anon in return so we can spread the cheer far and wide.
Last year we had 180 gifted anons, some more than once.

I'm planning to stream a couple of things, so lets see how that goes. We're starting the Christmas season off cold in Australia (at least in Melbourne that is), it was hot at the start of the week and the temp just nosedived hard, typical.
Amazon AU finally got its shit together and added actual items and specifically wishlists to the site this year, so here's my list, everything on the site is in AUD and wont change to USD during checkout, so dont be alarmed at the prices. Through the magic of exchange rates things might end up being cheaper than on the US site.

The new Halloween was something I was pretty excited for since the original and its sequel are among my favorite slasher films, but the audience in my theater consisted of roughly 90% the most stereotypical obnoxious movie goers you've ever seen. They'd scream "You gonna get it!" and "Ohhhhhh, [insert expletive]!" every time a kill was about to take place, cackled hysterically during the kill scenes (the gas station bathroom scene must've seemed like the height of comedy the way they carried on), and, during the last thirty minutes, one guy just whipped out his phone to play YouTube videos at full volume while commentating for his friends. Definitely need to rewatch it.

Okay, hopefully the guy I'm thinking about will read through the thread and I'll get an answer. So last year I gifted a copy of Watchmen to somebody in one of those post-Yugoslavian shitholes, don't even remember which (B&H? Montenegro? I think it was one I remembered was a part of two-part name), but the tracking never confirmed a delivery. I tried contacting Amazon in February to make sure the package got where it was supposed to get, and since they had no idea either, they ended up sending another copy there, which never got a confirmed delivery either. So there's an anon somewhere in the Balkans that either never got a gift last year, got a gift, or got two copies of the same gift, and it would be great to know which.

It's important to know that if you have an account on any amazon site, you can log onto any other one as well (although you won't have your lists, your Prime or any of that. Maybe your delivery and payment details). I think .jp is the only one you have to register separately because of how they're running the site (I'd need someone to confirm that though).
As

You'll only see the name thy selected to be public, their country (and state/province if applicable) and an indication it's from a wishlist.
IIRC you'll also have to confirm you're the owner of the card you'll be using as payment as a safety measure, but other than that everything goes the same way as with a regular Amazon order.

I finished my thesis back in february or march and got my final grade in june. Obviously, the process was complicated because my luck is non-existent and my prof decided to take a sabbatical term right when I was finished. Ergo, he passed the two-month deadline and I had to make several calls. Fortunately enough for me, he was a champ and gave me a near perfect score so I was generally pretty happy. You don't need a name, its certainly not a clique, all you need to do is take a chance I suppose, take a chance that not everyone is a bastard. Nobody has to gift strangers in their lives, but if you think about it, you could start something that gets carried on. Someone downtrodden, who has had a shit year gets an unexpected thing in the post and makes them go "Oh wow" and they pass that feeling on in some way. And here people can randomly vent or share and there's no judgement bar the random troll who is easy to ignore.
I remember my first secret santa from here. I remember them all. And I've had people post what I've got them and thank me and I've had others not.
But if a few bucks gives others the feeling that I got, when a random anon gifted me something when I was at my lowest ebb, then it's a bargain. I'm here years later still doing it. It must be doing something right.

>>104338706 I got the gift wrapping options, it just told me when I went to pay that not only was I going to pay for shipping but I couldn't send ONE cart for two or three recipients. >>104338729 Yeah, I just used it for these two anons.
>>104338615 Thanks for the tip, I will test that out another time!
>>104338874 >every site will let you do a 30-day free trial OK, I will try that for the UK, it looked like it would let me ship to the mainland so I can also do IT, I doubt Amazon will let me sign up for a bunch of different sites with the same email, but I'm also going to grab an EDU address and try that first.
Give me the first three numbers of your Wish List code (since reposting it is frowned upon) and I'll keep an eye out to see if you are still ungifted by next weekend!

>>104338792 Yeah, comics in general being cheaper in the US is quite unfair. What you can do though is sign up with a totally new account and get prime if you have already done so in that specific country. If you haven't, use prime test trial, which is always possible on every separate Amazon

>>104338932 Mate, you actually can get free trial everywhere with the same account. I did it with my German account and afterwards did the same on .com
Worked perfectly fine. Should work with the UK and IT for you if I'm not completely mistaken

>>104338932 >I doubt Amazon will let me sign up for a bunch of different sites with the same email Actually, if you are registered on any amazon site, you can use your email and password to log into any other amazon site (except the Japanese one).

SMILE.UK but it populated my email with my US email account, just forced me to enter the password.
>>104339019 Good to know, again, I'll wait and see if they are ignored since that's what I was trying for tonight, but it's past my bedtime now and I already covered two gifts for two other anons.
>>104338933 >cheaper in the US They were the same price for Mexico and for Puerto Rico, but they didn't qualify for the free (non-prime) standard shipping unless I picked out an expensive book (or sets of books) which I wasn't about to do. I'd rather give to several people than to just one or two.

Anyways, should hit the sack - will look for the next thread since we're past the bump limit.
Can whomever is updating these
>>104307734 >Ungifted lists: pastebin.com/CVtwNUmq >All lists: pastebin.com/km9Gfxvm Also update the time stamp and date at the bottom, please and thank you?!

>>104338932 >Give me the first three numbers of your Wish List code (since reposting it is frowned upon) and I'll keep an eye out to see if you are still ungifted by next weekend! Nah, I just want to make sure everyone willing is able to maximize their gift-giving abilities while minimizing the unnecessary spending. Whether I get a reward for it or not is irrelevant.
Which reminds me, since the thread is >500 and sliding to its' doom, Elusive, are you still awake? What do you think about adding the Free Prime Trial trick to the OP/pastebin? If somebody chooses to do it, it'll end on Christmas Eve (I think?), so at least it's gonna be easy to remember.
Also reminder to fix the explanation on how to get the code for future OPs.
And while you did add .
co.uk and .de to the paragraph about smile.amazon.### charity, it also still says it only works on .com, so that's another thing to fix.
