It was a cash-in at the right time that forced them to rush the movie. It was moved up an entire year because the Toy Story 4 plot about Bo Peep had been entirely scrapped and had to be redone. TS4 was supposed to come out this year.

Deleted scenes in the first movie were good but they didn't quite fit the finished product. Deleted scenes of the sequel show the bones of something that could have been a much better film if they hadn't played it so safe and boring.

The had two angles for the sequel, the first one was an insurance scam thing where the Endeavours would create villains for heroes to fight and perpetuate this faked conflict for profit, and the second which almost made it into the film where Winston was way less squeaky clean. The shitty newbie heroes were part of a reality TV series thing where they auditioned to be heroes, and Endeavour's plan to publicize heroes was way more media driven. He and his sister used Screenslaver to create conflicts for Helen to clean up because her regular crime fighting wasn't high profile enough to fill a TV show, only for Evelyn to have her own agenda that would have gone down mostly the same in the finale. They weren't sure if both Endeavours were going to be evil very late into production and Bob Oedendirk's design reflects that, he's meant to be this shifty corporate shark with just a few softened features to make him look somewhat trustworthy.

There was a great scene they cut that followed up on the babysister from the first film who was all twitchy and weird from the mindwipe she received and her parents were very angry at the Parrs for it, there was more stuff that showed Helen struggling with the hero job that contrasted with Bob's own struggles adapting to domesticity. There was a sequence that in retrospect really feels like it's missing from the finished film where robbers hold up the restaurant the family is visiting and Dash and Violet resolve things while Bob's doing baby shit with Jack Jack. There was also a really really good action setpiece they cut where Screenslaver hacked Edna's security system and she and Bob had to work together to dismantle her house before it killed them both.

he didn't. the whole reason he didn't make one before was because he couldn't find the right script at all.
This movie was mandated by people higher than him and pretty much forced out of Brad. I dont hold anything against him. and since it took place right after the first. he can still make a third, and hopefully find a better story to tell than he himself is passionate about. unlike the turd he was forced to shit out

what needs to be in an incredibles sequel:
less people talking about superheros
more superheros doing superhero stuff
maybe dash trying to not use his powers all day
bob doing comic conventions and signing autographs all day and just hating his life.
helen turning tricks for money
and then probably alien invasion where the aliens are stronger than bob, and are able to counter helen completely (maybe with an anti-stretch anti-power collar).
then THEN you can write your way out of that and save the day.
maybe the aliens are invading, maybe just harvesting superheros.
then the childrens can try to save parents. or mix teams up where only a few get kidnapped. like helen and dash have to team up or bob + violet or something.

cmon this isnt rocket science I could write a script thats better than incredibles 2.

helen keeps falling over because she is used to stretching to keep her balance with that fat ass.

government guy is a secret super btw. that would be a fun twist. dunno what super power.

twist ending, the aliens win, nothing can stop them. they harvest super power dna and release everyone back to earth.

sets up for the 4th movie. bob goes to 1969 moon landing to set up the moon base....

buddy would come back in the 4th film (or end credits of the 3rd) because he didnt die in the jet engine. he was in hospital then jail but NASA needs him for space program because he is a good inventor. just like the nazi scientists, need rocket engineers etc.

buddy also figures out or works on the anti-power collar that is on helen (and some other supers).

theres a lot you can do with a moon landing and aliens in the 4th film. plus an old villain come back from the dead always adds some fun.

could go the way that its all a setup / escape plan for buddy who instead of inventions wants to harvest dna to make himself super.

that seems kind of hackneyed, maybe save that for the 5th film.

but yeah i'd love to see incredibles in space the 4th film.

Just remake the 90s to double dip on Millennials and their kids.

Incredibles 2 was an (inferior) copy of the first one. One parent gets involved with a tech heavy investor who wants to bring back supers and wow it turns it out was a trap. Meanwhile one parent stays at home, struggles with house life, visits Edna for help, and has one kid be frustrated about their powers.
It's the exact same fucking movie.
It's a soft sequel reboot.

Disney, and pretty much every other film studio, knows that the mid 20s to early 30s market is the highest spending market. Fucking Millennials. So they're trying to grab them by literally remaking everything that was popular during the 90s.
Why do you think they're remaking all the 90s Disney cartoons into "live action"? Why did they spend 4 billion dollars on Star Wars?
Disney is pillaging the 90s early 00s nostalgia market to get those new parents.

The movie was to tie up the “Superheroes are banned” problem left behind in the first movie.

Evelyn Deavor is not a surprise villain given that her name is a classic Disney villainess pun for “Evil Endeavor”, she blurts our her motivation after her brother talks about their father’s death and she’s seen in the shadows like classic Disney villainess. She did a fine job and making her cartoonish and over the top would have resulted in Mezmerella aka Female Syndrome.

Also, the original plot for Incredibles 2 would have been really bad timing.

I don't understand why the public is suddenly on-board with superheroes being legal again at the end of the movie.

They disliked them at the start for battling super-villains and causing collateral damage.
At the end of the movie, supers just attacked some people on live-TV and gave a threatening speech, which will cause distrust even with the full story of them being brainwashed coming out after, and they still caused a bunch of collateral with the boat nearly slamming into the city. The villain of the movie only came about and committed evil because the supers existed.
The public perception should still be as bad as ever if anything.

The movie got turned into this thing meant to repeat Syndrome's moral but with a twist.

Syndrome wanted everyone to be equal so he was using the Supers to help achieve that dream of creating a great marketing ploy for selling gadgets to make everyone super, in effect making everyone equal so no one would be. This was countered by the Incredibles recognizing they were really special and should use their special abilities to help people.

In the sequel, the villain wanted everyone to give up on depending on Supers, which was countered by the incredibles going through trials that made them realize they had to depend on each other. It's obvious after the villain's speeches, but it didn't really get pushed well by the story. They threw in the extra supers without much reason for their existence and they didn't have the mother really go through anything to personally realize anything.

Which is why I think the movie is mediocre, if they were trying for some kind of similar effect to the first with the villain teaching a lesson then the mother should have learned some lesson like that she couldn't do everything solo such as she had throughout her heroing time.

/co/s pol style shit fling over Helen being the "main protag", was completely baseless, and it's further cemented my belief you faggots don't know what a good movie is.

Bob didn't become a cuck dad to leave the stronk wymyn to save the day, he wanted to be a better father, and he struggled with it. And Helen didn't become a mary sue, what made her powerful wasn't her powers, but her ability to think outside the box and be a role model for people.

tl;dr it was a good movie, fuck you.

There are parallels in the story beats, but they're hardly identical. Helens problems at home aren't related to the home, but her husband potentially cheating on her. She doesn't visit Edna for help, she visits because he's been to her recently and needed answers.
