Wally is the only thing that makes Barry interesting. With Wally gone taking away Barry’s father figure role, the character has nothing. Not even daddy issues black Wally likes him.

The keyword is "used to be". Barry is much younger now which is why I specifically said "after flashpoint". It would be weird if the writers have him referring to Wally as son since they are more like brothers than father/son.

Barry is currently pushing late 20s/early 30s at most now and Wally is in his early 20s. There's a closer gap between them now.

King isn't autistic, but when he's traumatized, as he apparently was while writing this crap, he is a really bad fan fic writer who instead on introducing his own OCs, pulls a Bendis and just write the canon characters as OOC as he possibly can.

I mean, Booster has been written as less than bright, but this isn't stupidity or lack of intelligence on display.

The way Booster breaks the news of Wally's death is pretty fucking messed up and Booster comes off as not giving a shit or making everything a joke. Hell the way he casually just drops the names including Wally's it's pretty fucking awful.

I guess King wants to show how damaged or traumatized Booster is but he comes off as an unlikable ass.

Just compare to when Batman breaks the news of Ted's death to Booster, Supes, and WW in Countdown to Infinite Crisis. Bruce is pretty clinical about it but he is also not exactly dancing around the thing. You also expect Bruce to be cold and the way Booster reacts it feels genuine.

That's not really that defined, the post Rebirth comic has Wally saying he sees Barry as a father figure and Barry treats him like a son so even if Barry is younger that relationship still maintains.

Bruce and Dick aren't that far apart either and they still play the father and son relationship, especially since Dick was like 12 and Bruce was around his early 20's when they met.

Barry, Hal and heroes of that generation are probably mid-30s. Wally, Roy, Dick, etc. act like people in their mid-late 20s. Established, but still not the finished articles, potentially better than their mentors but lacking in experience.
