>>103641577Yes but mostly because originally in the drafts for GotG Star-Lord was from Spartax and J'Son was there so when Bendis was writing the comic (and he had access to the drafts according to perlman) he was already synergizing on what was done. But when Gunn took over he scraped that all out. Then when GotG vol. 2 happened Marvel Comics wasn't making that much from Guardians and Bendis was already on his way out.
It also could be that at one point Bendis who had initially claimed that he was influencing the movies started saying he didn't want to copy the movies and make things different (possibly being butthurt that Gunn scrapped everything before him when he took over) and it just stayed like that.
Also J'Son is ruined and a non-entity and after what happened with Gunn no one wants to synergize with the movies that much, at least it's not a priority, I am guessing that is why Cates is being allowed to go full edge with the comic and change the roster.
The situation with Carol is obvious pre-synergizing especially since the "Mar-Vell is Carol's mom" rumor has being going for awhile, and Marvel tends to like to cash in on popular shit. They're going to ride the shit out of it and then change it again because they don't know what the fuck to do with Carol and are waiting for the movie people to tell them what to do.
