The Kree name is silly as hell but other than that it's a fine retcon. Though they have to explain her connection with Mar-Vell after this new "revelation."
Why am I fine with this? It opens the doors to new stories that person exclusively to her, new villains/rogues, a tighter connection with cosmic and the Kree, and of course, a closer relationship with the Vells, who are all dead in 616 apparently.
So yeah. No bitterness here. Much prefer this than one more year of "hurr Carol is boring she's a shit character nothing of her stands out just shelve her."

Trust me I care a lot about continuity and it's why I allowed to care about the mother being a secret Kree given some clues from her first run. That is fine by me. But obviously not the most overt stuff in that page that relates to Kree hierarchy, though my point isn't to accept this blindly by to use it as an opportunity to give her new rogues and shit.
I doubt she'd be allowed to rewrite history with a mini, same reason why I know Cates' bullshit with the Inhumans will be summarily ignored after his mini. Just take the good parts from it and ignore the rest.

No that was still the original supreme intelligence. They had like some seed with his genetic history and Ronan needed the two alt reeds to resurrect the intelligence. The Reeds didn't turn into a new intelligence instead they were just ingredients to resurrect the original deal.

Yes. But again it's not over so they still need to explain where her powers come from and how Mar-Vell figures in all this. Making her a full half-Kree from the start makes more sense than some generic infusion anyway, like it or not. They just have to make sense of her connection with the guy in first place.

Anon, it's not the naming convention, which is fine, it's that this could be used to completely retcon Mar-Vell out of continuity. They clearly want to remove the idea that her powers are derived from a male because that doesn't comport with modern feminist empowerment narratives. Of course that's what they would do for the movie and I'm afraid this book is solely an effort to synergize and streamline the property.

Maybe I'm overreacting, but has Mar been mentioned at all in this book? How many issues are left?
