Imagine if there was a vocal online fan group who thought that SpongeBob and Patrick were gay, and then in the last episode of the show the writers made them kiss. That basically what this was. Or just replace the names with anything else.

While it can be said that Bubbeline has more development then korrasami, it's still just another dyke crackship all the same.

Both characters had to have their personalities completely changed for it to "fit".

No, but neither was most of the shit in the finale.
The framing device of the future wasn't necessary because it didn't inform the story or enhance the character's actions in any way.
The gumbaldia war wasn't necessary because it all just comes to a screeching halt and the armies disappear.
The Golb monsters weren't necessary because the only thing they do is wreck the treehouse just so fern can immediately be planted as a replacement.
Finn's visit to Gumbaldia wasn't necessary since it accomplishes nothing.
The scene at the camp wasn't necessary since they attack immediately after Finn fails to sway anyone, then suddenly it's morning again.
The dream sequence was 90% filler which could have been resolved in a more satisfying way if the conflict happened in the real world.

A lesbian kiss shoehorned in was the least of this pathetic series' problems.

PB had little to no personality at the beginning of the show. Her first personal episode was in Season 4, for crying out loud. And Marceline's main change in character came after Stakes.
