>>103360513The general consensus seems to be he wanted to keep his two Demo Reel actors hired because he promised them a longer run and then the show was for all intents and purposes post-natally aborted so he felt bad and just wrote those skits into the All-New Nostalgia Critic episodes for them. The problem I have with that theory is that he was using skits before killing off the Critic, they became awfully common around 2010, just a couple years before he ended the first run of the show, so it sure looks like the skits were taking over either way. And I'm not even getting into the running jokes that he would put in every. Single. Fucking. Video. aka the shorter proto-skits (M. Bison from the Street Fighter movie, "Y'know, for kids", the Burger King, the Bat-credit card, Chuck Norris jokes that were already dated and out of vogue by then, "I was frozen today", THE ACTUAL LITERAL CARTOON ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM THAT WOULD TALK TO HIM). Christ, what a shitshow.
