but thats okay
not all animation has to be fluid
jarring, sudden movements can create effects smooth and liquid transitions cannot

The problem for me is combining the extreme keys with the animation rate usually cranked down to 3s; anime can get away with the latter because they rarely go for the former, but the result here is clunky and unappealing as hell

Completely disagree. to me it looks amazing and unlike any action show nowadays. It makes every fight fun as hell. But i will admit that certain shots can look bad when its too much movement between more than one character being shown at once.
