>>103248987The neo-cats are solitary hunters for the most part. They have a sort of society and some cats even live together, but mostly each cat has their own domain where they live. Sort of a small fiefdom.
However, to maintain their small domains and to satisfy their vanity most cats have at least one slave. Those slaves are humans.
Humans have managed to hang on to civilization after the rise of the solitary and powerful cats, but just barely. With their weapons, and in a group, human can take cats in a strait fight. Unfortunately, cats are ambush hunters and never meet humans on the humans' terms.
So we have wild lands that are the hunting grounds of the cats, with each one staking out territory, and we have the civilized territories of the human, which they defend with everything they have.
Our story could then focus on a human that is captured by a young cat looking for their first slave. Maybe the cat doesn't really understand the concept of what a slave is so she treats him as a pet. Or maybe she really likes the way he smells which endears him to her.
Anyway, the human then tries to figure out Cat society and works with his "master" to forge a new understanding between the races.
I dunno, just typing stream of thought here. Use what you like, if anything.
