>>103232025I feel that Wonder Woman works fine with Batman, outside of the few times writerr had them hating one another's guts for some contrived reason - Injustice comics and Johns' JL. Even in comics where they're opposed sometimes work great - Kingdom Come.
To be honest, when it comes to the Trinity, both Superman and Wonder Woman work great with Batman. You can't go wrong with Batman. He's a great straight man. You can pair him with any odd character and it works. Plas, Constantine, Hal Jordan, whatever.
The problem, really, is making Superman and Wonder Woman work well without it being boring or throwing Wonder Woman under the bus. Sometimes even with Batman there it doesn't help because writers just edgy-fy Wonder Woman to counterbalance her against Superman and it becomes something messy, because you end up having to place Batman as a mediator and the dynamic is slightly off. Something feels lacking. Disfuncional. Again, Kingdom Come.
Really, i wish writers could just find a balanced way to portray Superman and Wonder Woman together. Have her being naive and hopelessly optimistic, with Superman being more weary and cautious - sacrilegious! Or have her be more pragmatic and serious (but still compassionate and wise!), with Superman being more naive and friendly. I don't know, anything but whatever they constantly do.
