It's not about realism you stupid frog, it's about what brings in the crowds and what's cheaper. Not only is 3D modeling the best for reusing assets, it also comes with an aesthetic that's like a video game. It's more accessible and. Otherwise as stigmatized as 2D. I do prefer 2D myself.

The reason people use 3D because its cheaper and easier, whereas 2D usually demands an attention to detail that 3D doesnt. 3D modeling and 2D are both just tools to make art, arguing one is inherently better is as autistic as saying drawing always looks better than painting

Art is about skill, effott, and creativity not tools you fucking mongoloids

Not because theyre more expensive, its because big studios produce 3D and not 2D

Not him, but doesn't that trend of increased budgets exist even when you only include 2D movies? I think that has more to do with them just spending more as time went on. Treasure Planet's budget isn't even far off from Frozen's.
