>In 1987, introverted aspiring comedian Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) moves in with his ailing mother Penny (Frances Conroy) in the Lower East Side of Gotham. Penny is obsessed with her former employer, billionaire playboy Thomas Wayne, who is alluded to be Arthur’s biological father.
